醫(yī)學(xué)院學(xué)生米婭（米歇爾·洪 Michelle Ang 飾）正籌劃針對阿茲海默綜合癥寫一篇博士論文，她輾轉(zhuǎn)找到名叫莎拉·洛根（安妮·拉姆塞 Anne Ramsay 飾）的女性，希望能以莎拉的母親狄波拉（吉爾·拉森 Jill Larson 飾） 為對象拍攝一部紀(jì)錄片。狄波拉為人保守刻板，此時正處于阿茲海默的前期，雖然她對拍攝頗為抵觸，但是家中糟糕的經(jīng)濟狀況不得不使她接受女兒的請求。在此之后，米婭和蓋文（Brett Gentile 飾）、路易斯（Jeremy DeCarlos 飾）組成的攝影團隊驅(qū)車來到洛根一家位于叢林中央的房子里。他們對狄波拉周圍的人進行采訪，貼身記錄這家人的一切言行舉止。 而在這一過程中，病情不斷惡化的狄波拉變得越來越古怪，甚至到了反常恐怖的地步……
