Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 崢嶸歲月

 1976年，“四人幫”在平陽市的代理人，市委書記李孟良突然宣布把非法關押的“903”工程總指揮龔放釋放回家。幫派分子孔靜，帶著“四人幫”的卑劣陰謀來到平陽市。他要李孟良一伙兒表面上同意恢復龔放的職務，暗中對國家重點項目“903”工程進行破壞，然后把責任推到龔放身上。后來，李孟良一伙兒探得“四人幫”垮臺的消息，企圖燒死龔放等人滅口，市委書記廖平山帶領戰士和群眾及時趕到，救出龔放等人，并告訴他們“四人幫”已經被粉碎。
