等待方舟

　　Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

澳門追兇

 澳門東方科技院首席工程師曲興裂在街頭慘遭殺手槍殺。當(dāng)時(shí)恰巧被《快報(bào)》記者于明路過(guò)目睹，她拍下照片并發(fā)現(xiàn)曲工程師身邊的“辭職報(bào)告”。 曲興裂的兒子曲強(qiáng)曾在大陸習(xí)武三年，練就了一身好功夫，人稱“武神”。他得知父親被害的噩耗，悲痛之極，發(fā)誓要查明真相為父報(bào)仇。他找到父親的老同事林挺柱了解到，原來(lái)曲興裂研制了一種飛彈，上司羅主任拉攏他合伙走私軍火，剛直不阿的曲工程師斷然拒絕，羅主任怕走露風(fēng)聲，便殺人滅口。 曲強(qiáng)又來(lái)到快報(bào)雜志社，向于明了解父親遇害經(jīng)過(guò)。記者的正義感使于明決心幫助他。她把那份能說(shuō)明問(wèn)題的辭職報(bào)告交給了曲強(qiáng)。 歹徒們先下手了，他們殺死了知情者林挺柱。 曲強(qiáng)、于明和警察得到情報(bào)趕到歹徒們交接軍火的集裝箱貨場(chǎng)。警局刑事組正、副組長(zhǎng)貪贓枉法，早已同走私團(tuán)伙狼狽為奸，里應(yīng)外合。在激戰(zhàn)緊急關(guān)頭，有意放跑了接頭的洋人查里、強(qiáng)納和歹徒小浪人。 追蹤到一個(gè)慈悲會(huì)上，曲強(qiáng)、于明與羅主任相遇，他倆使出渾身解數(shù)奮力拼殺，打得眾歹徒落花流水，非死即傷。羅主任見(jiàn)大勢(shì)已去，畏罪自殺。突然副組長(zhǎng)露出猙獰的真面目，向曲強(qiáng)開槍，曲強(qiáng)中彈不得不撤離。這時(shí)，曲強(qiáng)的房東“浪女”因愛(ài)上曲強(qiáng)，向他道明真相。曲強(qiáng)才明白浪女是羅一伙派來(lái)監(jiān)視他的。他手起槍響，擊斃了跟蹤而來(lái)的副組長(zhǎng)。組長(zhǎng)又帶人來(lái)追殺曲強(qiáng)和于明。在一座廢棄的樓房里，展開了一場(chǎng)生死搏斗，曲強(qiáng)最終用他那鐵鉗般的大手卡死了正組長(zhǎng)，為父親報(bào)了仇。
